It has come to our attention that some members are being asked to sign additional agreements outside of your union contract. Any such agreements are considered direct bargaining and are a violation of IUOE Local 612’s bylaws that bar a member from entering into an individual agreement with an Employer. In reference to the annual 4/10 agreements recently discovered, they are unnecessary.
WAC 296-127-022: Overtime according to RCW 49.28.065, states that employees who bargained collectively with their employers through representatives (IUOE) comply with the consent to a 4/10 schedule and do not need to also sign a separate document stating such.
Please be cautious of what you are signing in your new hire packets. If it is anything other than company safety policies, please ask a union representative to review it before signing.
